Brighton officially announced that the team signed Polish international Model from Poznan Lech, and the two sides signed until 2025.
Model made his senior team debut for Poland in the national league last month. He will return to Poznan Lech on loan for a season, and the transfer fee was not disclosed in the announcement.
Brighton Technical Director Ashworth said: "Jakub is an exciting young midfielder. He has been selected for the Polish national team at the age of 21."
"He is a great athlete, strong and has great feet. He is well-known in the country, and we did consider letting him join directly. However, the loan back to Poznan is now suitable for both Yakub and us. ——Because he will have a stable appearance in the domestic and Europa League group matches. At this stage, this is more beneficial to his development."
Model has played 10 times for Poznan Lech this season to help the team qualify for the Europa League. They will face challenges from Standard Liege, the Glasgow Rangers and Benfica.
